Blender Contest Open for Submissions - Summer Photorealism

Blender Contest Open for Submissions - Summer Photorealism

We have just opened our new Summer Photorealism Blender Contest up to accept submissions. The main goal of this challenge is to help improve your Blender skills, have a bit of fun and to create a new project for your portfolio.

Why Blender?

We wanted to create this dedicated contest because we were so impressed with the latest release of their free software and we believe it’s a great package for all junior artists to learn. Plus, they have overhauled their rendering system and it has an incredible unbiased rendering engine that we want you to push to its limits.

The Brief

Everyone loves Summer, and everyone has fond memories of what makes this time of year special to you. We want you to share this with us and create a 3d rendering that best represents this. As the title suggests, Photorealism is going to play a big part in this challenge. Your entry could be an exotic beach location, an animal basking in the summer sun or even a melting ice-cream. The topic is completely up to you!

  • Open for submission 13th September 2019
  • Entries close 4th November 2019.
  • Finalists announced 23rd November 2019.

Judging Criteria

The Process - we want to see your process from start to finish. This contest uses the Play by Play project builder which means you can share every little update similar to a forum.

We have a great list of judges participating in our first Blender contest. They will be asked to review all entries based on the following criteria: Photorealism, Visual Appeal, Storytelling and Technical Skills.

Rules

Please read the rules for this contest to make sure you are eligible to enter.

Badges

Similar to all the other contests at The Rookies, we love to give aways badges so you can showcase these on your portfolio and social media accounts. Entrants can unlock the following badge achievements: Winner, Runner Up, Highly Commended and People's Choice.

How to Enter

Entrants must submit an entry directly from one of the contest pages for the Summer Photorealism contest. Only entries that are submitted here will be reviewed by our judging panel and considered an official entry.
